Kurt Abell
Kurt Abell, also known as Count Banjola from Gong Show fame, has been hanging around playing the 4-string banjo since he was a young guy of 19 years of age.
Over the years, his preferred banjo went from a tenor style onto plectrum, where he mastered the art of playing solid rhythm with world traveling bands which include Cell Block 7 and The Washboard Wizardz.
Along the way his self taught hours of musical seclusion offered him time to perfect his playing melody "to the inside" of any particular chord, thus changing the voicing of age-old songs. This special sound is what has given Kurt his own unique flavor of tasty tune lists that delight audiences throughout the United States every year.
